it has become rarer and rarer to take out my canon camera instead of just whipping out my iphone to grab a spur-of-the-moment shot most days, but last week i grabbed my camera and parked myself between the open sun porch door and the living room. the sun was going from cloud to cloud and i was simply enjoying the details of my (second) favorite boy.
he's the happiest with two trains (or cars, or buses or trucks) in hand
boy how i love that face. brown eyes, pink lips, little nose sandwiched in between.
little hand on little knee during a rare moment of stillness
those eyelashes. no amount of mascara can give this jealous girl those lashes.
the smiley squint. his dad's eyes through and through.
ok mom, now i want that camera.
a boy and his dog. putting teeth holes in my volleyball.
and then all fun halts for some unhappiness.
the annoyed lip bite. i know the face well.
then happy again, as quick as it was gone, it always comes again.
choo choo. i said can you hug your trains and this is what i got. train hugging.
we always stop for airplanes overhead. not one to drop a train, he tried to point it out to me with hands full.
when asked to smile for the camera, this is the little boy grin i got.
then this. annoyance?
then it was time to stop. furrowed brow and crooked lips said i was wearing out my welcome.
