oh how this blog is gonna change

There is a quote that says, “Happiness is not real unless it is shared.”
It’s from Jon Krakauer's book Into the Wild, I’ve never read it, but I’ve seen the movie.
And while I’m not sure I agree with this statement in whole, over the last few weeks I have found this: that guarded happiness is real for sure, but happiness that is shared is another beast altogether.

So, finally, i think i am ready to share...
Today I would like to bring you in and share in our extreme and utter happiness.

There is much to say right now, to explain, and i'm sure i will in time, but i will tell you this for now. this is what all the explanation and backstory would lead to anyways:

We have decided to adopt a little boy...

from Ethiopia.

This morning we walked out of the post office after mailing our initial application and we knew that our lives would never be the same.

So, there you have it folks - the news you've been waiting for...much more to come as we are beyond excited to share our journey with you...

So glad God has led your down this path! I am in bible study with Kate and she shared your news with me. I met you awhile ago at her bday party. We are also in process for ET. Just finished all of our paperwork and will be on the waitlist this week. We are requesting a girl this time, as we have 1 girl and 2 boys already. (Kate may have told you before but this is our 2nd adoption, our last child was born in Guatemala). I know God will do great things in your lives as you meet your little boy. So very happy for you guys!

thanks rona - saying we're excited is an understatement, and yes, we get to choose the sex - pretty crazy!

Krisy - that's so crazy - we've already been so shocked by how many adoption and even ethiopia connections we've seen since starting the process. our eyes are open and adoption is everywhere - love it!

Thanks Amie - although i'm thinking you knew already because i'm pretty sure curtis told scott - is that right?

thanks for the reminder kate! what an encourager you are ;) haha 100 or 1,000 - we'll look back and shrug off the effort oneday - a small price to pay!

and jenny - i do remember you and kate told me about your adoption journey as well - your blog is going on my blogroll as i type - can't wait to hear about all that's in store for your fam too - it's so "neat" (lame word but you know what i mean) to have this connection with people all over - so incredible. will be praying for some grace for the waiting time.

you guys are all great! made my day - seriously!
