i would not change my life.

I would not change my life.

Man, that’s quite a statement isn’t it?

That thought popped into my head two days ago and my next thought was – um no that’s not true, there's a lot i would change.

But upon reflection, I don’t think I would. Seriously.

I’ve listened to {this cd} earlier this week at the insistence of a friend and as i was listening, i read up on the backstory.

He is a Christian musician, a little outdated, but a couple years ago, his little five year old adopted daughter was run over by a car in their driveway -

a car that happened to be driven by his teenage son.

This is the album that came out of that horrific experience.

Poignant stuff.

And although the music isn’t quite my style

I can surely stand behind a guy that has been through all that and still comes out writing music with lyrics like these.

And so when I put life events like that into perspective, what do I have to complain about?

Infertility? (oooh, what a word!)

This is nothing in comparison. And although this is not always my perspective, today i truly believe it.

There was another song that really spoke to me this week, called Jesus Draw Me Ever Nearer:

Jesus draw me ever nearer
As I labour through the storm.
You have called me to this passage,
and I'll follow, though I'm worn.

May this journey bring a blessing,
May I rise on wings of faith;
And at the end of my heart's testing,
With Your likeness let me wake.

Jesus guide me through the tempest;
Keep my spirit staid and sure.
When the midnight meets the morning,
Let me love You even more.

Let the treasures of the trial
Form within me as I go -
And at the end of this long passage,
Let me leave them at Your throne.
