deep calls to deep

Every end is a beginning, and under every deep a lower deep opens.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

As deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
Psalm 42:7

I have been meditating on this idea of the depths, lately.
This idea that the depths are a good thing.
A hard thing, but a good thing nonetheless.

In the depth of winter I finally learned that there within me lay an invincible summer.
Albert Camus

Depth must be hidden. Where? On the surface.
Hugo von Hofmannsthal

Plunge it in the depths; it comes up fairer.
